Day 8/ Nov. 20, 2009

Hey Sports fans!!! Today I am going to run down my top ten college basketball teams.

1. Kansas-- Big Cole Aldrich and Little man Sherrod Collins lead this team that returns the top eight scorers from a solid team last year. Newcomer Xavier Henry who was to go to Memphis before Callipari left for Kentucky will be the key as to whether the Jayhawks can win it all this year.
2. North Carolina-- Deon Thompson leads the best front line in the country . Larry Drew II was a big time recruit at point guard and needs to step up his game if the Heels hope to repeat.
3. Texas-- Horns may be the deepest team in the country . Great recruiting class coupled with Damion James and Bigs Dexter Pittman and Gary Johnson have Longhorn fans daring to dream about the Daily Double (Football and B-ball Nat. championships in the same season)!!!Freshman J'Covan Brown solid. Bradley and Hamilton are stars in the making!!!
4. Villanova- Best back court in the country . Led by Scottie Reynolds look for them to make a big run come tourney time, when Guards can lead you to the Final Four. Corey Fisher and Corey Stokes can really score on the wings .
5. Michigan State-- Solid team led by guard Kalin Lucas. Durrell Summers has All American talent and needs to be the MAN if this team expects to make it to Indy!!! Tom Izzo gets my nod as the 2nd best coach in America.
6. Duke-- Speaking of The best coach in America . Coach K is and will be until he decides to hang em up. Just ask USA basketball. Kyle Singler is a scorer on par with anyone. Jon Scheyer may be my favorite player in the land. Duke needs to get some production and defense from its Bigs in order to give UNC a run for it's money in the ACC.
7. Purdue-- Robbie Hummel is a player of the year candidate. He can score , rebound and play defense. If you haven't seen him play watch a Purdue game , he truly represents what college b-ball is all about. How much help he can get out of JaJuan Johnson and guard Chris Kramer will tell this teams story this year.
8.Kentucky-- Biggest recruit was coach Callipari . He brought several big time recruits from Memphis. Most notably John Wall who is a point guard similar to Derrick Rose. Patrick Patterson is solid inside. May have the best starting five in the nation. Team chemistry could hold this team back.
9. Butler-- The Butler did it!!! This mid major will be there with the big boys come March . Gordon Hayward is the best player you have never heard of!!!
10. Syracuse-- Jim Boheim has an ultra talented team led by Arinze Onuaku and Wesley Johnson. Look for them to challenge Nova for the big East.

Player of the Day
Michael Jordan -- Come on NBA retire the Greatest of all time's number!!! BTW 3PM Sports land... Any time I get a chance to mention MJ i will!!!

Quote of the day
"I never looked at the consequences of missing a big shot... when you think about the consequences you always think of a negative result."
