Day one / Oct 30th 2009

Welcome to three P M sports. Since this is my initial post , let me explain the concept and set up. In keeping with the title I will have 3 topics : Sports in general, Texas sports, and Athlete/ Team/ Sport /topic of the day. I will update 3 times weekly at 3 pm Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Remember to invite your friends and comment comment comment. All are welcome to read and comment. Ok , here we go 3 2 1………..and we’re off!!!

Sports in gen---
●The Yanks and Phills are the two best teams in baseball, Playoffs rarely give us
that match up and I love it!!! Yanks have too many bats and Cliff Lee can only
throw so many times. Yanks in 6.
●In the N.B.A it is early so let’s just say that the rich got richer with apologies to Shaq. The three best acquisitions were in no particular order: Artest to the Lakers, Jefferson to the Spurs , and Rasheeeeeeed to the Celts. Early prediction is great conference finals LA/SA and CELTS/CAVS.
● In the N.F.L let me give you four: Colts, P-man is doing his thing , Saints – this is what everyone expected last year Brees is comfortable now and it shows, Pats- Brady is healthy and coach B is still the best mind in football, Steelers – You have to beat the champs to be the champs and they have the ring from last year.
●Denver has won , but not sold on Orton, just ask Bears fans. Viks need to give
Peterson the ball more, Farve throwing 40 times a game with that defense and
running back is insane. Am very interested to see how VY does best wishes from A-TOWN.
●The Basically Crappy System (B.C.S.) is unfair and needs to go. While I believe
the two best teams Tex/ Fla will both win out and play for the National
Championship. It is absolutely ridiculous to say to an Iowa or for that matter
T.C.U. player that you can go out, win every game, and have NO chance at a title. 8 teams is plenty and believe me the all mighty N.C.A.A. could easily pull it off.
●NASCAR –JJ enough said for now.
●GOLF / TENNIS ETC to follow
Texas Sports
● Looking for the Horns to have a little easier time than expected in the Still. I have worried about this game all year. Yet now am looking for Colt and company to come out on fire not wanting A Texas Tech type game from last year.
● Big props to both T.C.U . and Houston, who aside from the cougars leaving early against UTEP to get a taco with Pat Hayden , have both had great years
with great recruiting bases and coaches look for continued success.
● Big game for the Cowboys this week they need to stay on this mini roll. Look for Whitten and Roy-boy to contribute more as teams roll more coverage to Jerry
Rice, I mean Miles Austin.
● Texans playing well , Playoffs??? Says here a year away. Steve Slayton’s production will be key to the end of the year run.
● Spurs, Mavs and Rockets discussed in future posts , as I said it is early and let’s let em play a bit before evaluating .
● For you Austin folk look for Travis to make it a game tonight in the battle for the bell against the knights..


Topic of the Day
● Many times recently I have noticed MMA fans talking bad about Boxing and vice versa. I am here to sing the praises of both. While it has taken me a while to
become a fan MMA is exciting and seems to give us the thrill of knowing any of the fights can end in an upset with one punch that many recent boxing matches have lacked. I love boxing and have two tips for the powers that be in
order to restore it’s glory. First USA boxing needs to get in gear!!! Once a power in Olympic boxing we are no longer even a top tier country in the sport. Second find an American heavyweight somewhere PLEASE!!! Side note I’m picking
Cotto ,in an upset, in the most recent fight of the year!!!
